News - July until December 2008December 23, 2008 December 22, 2008 December 11, 2008 October 15, 2008 July 17, 2008 December 23, 2008 Rainbow BridgeJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. Our lovely dog Púnktur left over this beautiful Rainbow bridge which appeared on the midday sky today. We lost him in an accident with a car yesterday. We are very sad about loosing this kind and high talented friend and family member. Júlíus got comforted a lot by listenig to the story of Rainbow bridge.... December 22, 2008 Merry ChristmasThe preparations for Christmas are nearly done. The last few Christmas cards need to come to their final destinations and the hangikjöt (smoked lamb) need to be cooked for Christmas eve. Otherwise the days may come, also if the weather forcast tells us +7°Celsius and rain. We wish you all a Merry Christmas! December 11, 2008 Winterjoy and PolarbearWintertime is time of joy, especially for children. Júlíus enjoys the snow very much and so does Púnktur. The days are getting very short now and the sun is not high enough anymore to look over the mountains. The snow lightens the rather dark days up. The bookings for next years riding tours are developing very well and some dates are almost booked out. If you want to take part on one of our tours we advice to book soon. We wish you all a nice pre-Christmas time! October 15, 2008 Update and program 2009First of all I want to appologize that I have not been updating the news for such a long time. It is not the fact that there is nothing to write about but the fact the the season kept us very busy until the end. And after the seasons end other works keep us busy. Anyway - I will try to do my best to keep these sites updated. The season ended two weeks ago with a marvellous horse round up in Laufskálarétt near Hólar. We took part with 15 guest, all Swedish beside one ;-) At last I want to invite you to have a look into our gallery to see some pictures from the past summer. There are also pictures from our family trip to the East of Iceland in September. We had a look at the new dam of Kárahnjúkar, where electricity is produced to feed the aluminium factory in Reyðarfjörður. This was quite impressing but not all in a positive way....Click here! July 17, 2008 High season greetingsWe are now in the middle of the high season. Many people find their way to our farm to take part on a 1-4 hour guided riding tour. Beside that the longer riding tours are running such as the highland adventure at the moment. These are very busy days and we are pleased to have eager and helpfull hands. In our summer team work beside us: Nikki, Jessica and the new girls Sophie and Anja. |
