Breeding and sale - Rearing
Foals are born between May and July. They spend the summer with their mothers which first meet a stallion and are driven into the highlands afterwards. They stay in the big highland area until the end of October.
Every foal is registered in WorldFengur until the 31st of December, gets a name and a microchip for identification. They have to leave their mothers in January or February. We take them in the stable and make them use to us, the daily stable life and a holder. They are tied up several times and lead around in the paddock. Afterwards they spend the winter together in a group, have much space to run around, get as much hay as they can eat as well as salt and minerals.

The youngsters spend the following years in the big herd until they are old enough to become riding horses.
Beside our own youngsters we take care of some young horses which have already been sold and stay with us until they are exported.
